Great Replacement, Difficult Installation
I replaced both of my remotes and I’m very happy with the results. Installation was challenging, especially for the first one. Almost all of the difficulty was in disassembling the factory remote. Once I had done that, installing the circuit board and the key into the new shell was relatively easy. The dimensions of this product are perfect for the circuit board. The key is also a great fit, though you will need to remove the cut key from the factory pivot and put it on the new pivot as the dimensions are slightly different. This is a great and inexpensive replacement for anyone that is willing to take the time to DIY installation. There are two big challenges in the installation. First, you have to disassemble the factory remote. Mine appeared to be sealed with glue. After prying at it with different tools, I found the easiest way to disassemble it was actually into use a mini hacksaw to cut away the sides and top. I was careful not to cut too deeply, anvoid the circuit board.Once I had cut through most of the sides of the case, I was able to pry it apart with a couple screwdrivers, putting them through at the top of the remote near where the key pivots. The second challenge is to remove the key from the pivot. For that, I used a 1/16 drill bit and used it to pound out the roll pin that holds the key into the pivot. Once I had it out about 1/8 of an inch, I used a pair of pliers to pull it the rest of the way out. Repeat the same process to remove the pin from the new pivot/key. Swap the key into the new pivot and use a small hammer to gently tap the pin back and hold it in place.Put the circuit board in the new shell. Put the spring in so that the side that has a bit turned out fits into the slot at the bottom. Put the button on the spring and the pivot on the button, and wind the key counterclockwise about two times to get some tension. That will allow it to pop out when you push the button. Hold the key in place while gently fitting the two sides of the remote together and snap together. The first remote took me an hour and was intensely frustrating. The second one took me 10 minutes and was mildly annoying. Given the cost of buying a new complete remote and having it cut and programmed, I saved over $100 compared to buying and cutting a new key secondhand and over $800 compared to the dealer’s incredibly inflated price to replace both remotes. For less than $15, I’m incredibly satisfied.

Good replacement key fob case
Purchased as replacement for 2013 Buick Encore key fob (the unlock button broke off the original after a lot of use). 1st impressions......As delivered, the parts were assembled, so proper fit including operation of the spring-loaded release button & key were easily verified. It's important to check this 1st!...Case components fit together tightly. Might need to be careful removing battery cover - to avoid removing the back cover with it - but that's OK....Circuit board from original key fob fit properly in the new case.A few notes......Disassembly of the original fob will likely destroy it, & requires care to avoid damage to the circuit board....Final assembly required moving the original original cut key to the replacement fob rotating pivot (removing each key from its pivot, then installing the old cut key on the replacement pivot), b/c the original pivot is not dimensionally compatible with the replacement case. This will be typical of replacement fobs...Re-winding the spring properly is important.Search for videos & tips on how to do these steps, and do them carefully.Final result: everything fits together and works great!

Works fine, but the key is difficult to swap.
The key mechanism is not identical to the original, so you can't just swap the key. I was able to swap the key end by removing the tiny pin.

Easy Peasy
Take to locksmith get the blank cut and follow directions on programming. (I watched a YouTube video easy peasy) saved big bucks over dealer. Daughter has used every day for months no issues.

Don't expect an exact replacement.
The key works as it should for the most part, but for my 2014 Buick Encore, the tolerances just aren't right. It still works, but the flip button for the key no longer works, nor does it lock in place. I've tried about 3 or 4 times, even tried filing parts of the plastic down, to no avail. I'm not expert by any means but I do have a mechanical background for what it's worth.

This review is for a 2015 Chevy Trax W/remote start
If you plan on changing your remotes shell plan on destroying the old remote, mine where both broken so I was OK with it. Hardest part is getting control board out from old remote. I had to change the key out as well which is just removing the little pin, the piece from the old didn’t match the new. Don’t forget to wind the key around the spring at least once, this is what makes the key pop out when you push the button.Be very careful when getting the board out, it takes time, just go slow, you don’t want to damage the board.Product is well worth the money, saved me a few hundred dollars for two remotes.
