Artificial Intelligence For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)) 2nd Edition

I appreciated the medium depth that this book goes into in a wide array of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies and applications.

Overall, I would recommend the book as the book itself is pretty good at giving a general overview of the current state of AI development and what to expect (without some major breakthrough) in the near future.It also provides a list of topics to further your research in, such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and General Robotics.I did find the constant use of embedded links in the text a bit irritating though.The amount used makes sense for a web article but when thrown in a book seems excessive and interrupts the basic reading flow, especially when multiple links are embedded in a row.They don't even need to be removed, as some of the articles genuinely were an interesting read in their own right; just move them to the end of the chapter as a list, or at the bottom of the page as a footnote.

This is a great book for people starting out, I enjoyed the details and the examples of the technology being used and implemented.

This has good information for someone who wants to learn about AI.

I used it to build the bridge from epidemiology and biostatistics to AI.

The book is disorganized, obtuse, and refers everything to complex web sites. It's not for dummies or even a physics PhD like me. I plodded through about half the book and still have no idea as to how current AI software works...

I never really learned how AI works. The authors spent a lot of time referring to the works of others. Instead of using footnotes, they included the URLs of each of their references in line with their text. That practice made it annoying to read what they were talking about.

One of our books had bent pages.
