Highly recommend
I ordered this book two years ago for my then 6year-old son. It helped him so much! He was extremely angry towards me after a divorce with his father; he blamed me and would even release his anger physically. Initially, we would sit down and read this together but as he grew up, he would even reach for the book himself and go through the activities when he recognised that his behaviour was wrong. At 8, he now has a healthy way to manage his anger and wants to give the book to his father, to help him with his own anger issues. I think that act speaks highly enough as a review for such a great and helpful book.I couldn't more highly recommend.

brilliant book he seems to be able to recognise when ...
Got this to help my 11yr old who's hormones are raging... brilliant book he seems to be able to recognise when he is losing or has lost his temper and deal with it better. Would definitely recommend it.

Really helpful book for anyone with an angry child!
Really good book. My 8 year old has a new found temper since lockdown, this book has been really useful. We read together and talk and do some of the excersizes, but it's basic enough for him to read and understand alone. There's a lot in here for anyone from age 3 or 4 upwards (including adults!) The key for us has been talking about it together and exploring and developing ideas the book gives us. It's certainly not exhaustive, but it is very user friendly and is designed as a journey to be read from beginning to end, but there are strategies and thought processes that help from the very beginning. Another real plus point is the fact it examines why gettimg angry is not desirable, before diving into how to avoid it. Although this can be read and the basics understood by an 8 year old, the key to maximising the benefit is taking the time to go on the journey with them

Great self help for a child with anger management issues
Bought for a grandson who was having difficulties in controlling his anger. He loved it as he could immediately identify with it and he has really benefitted. He now has skills in place to 'cool' his angry thoughts before he erupts! It has also made him realise what makes him get angry ( one of the things was not getting his own way!) so he is now aware of his 'triggers' . Highly recommend. Don't be put off that it is American. It didn't bother us as the message and self help was great.

Useful even for adults
This is a well written book. Clearly explains concepts and methods without being patronising. Useful even for adults! My ten year old son has been reading this book and is very positive about it. You read a chapter and complete exercises at each stage, thinking and drawing/writing down ideas.
