API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control 8-Ounce Bottle

I used this when we first put our pond in and it would keep our pond crystal clear. For some reason I changed to a different system a few years ago and it has never worked the same. I am so tired of draining and cleaning the pond! So I bought this again, and after the first dose, my water is clear and the algae is losing the battle! I anticipate that my next dose will help with the algae on the rocks on the bottom of the pond. I bought the big bottle so I can continue using it faithfully.

It took about a week to kill all the string algae and turn it into mush. I'd been battling with string algae for a year. About a week of applying this every 2 days, the string algae turned to black sludge. I had to clean out the strainer and filters several times as they caught the sludge, but it's way better than dealing with the algae. Now, I apply it once a week and it keeps the algae away. I'm able to clean the pond and it stays clean.

I gave this product a 1 rating before. I followed the instructions and it would work, but within a short amount of time the algae always came back with a vengeance, and I started to lose goldfish. I think in cold and wet weather, which we had early this spring, keeping algae at bay is more of a challenge. I have a waterfall and flowing water, but not yet an additional aerator. That probably would have helped. I bought another product, which appears to be highly toxic and which I don't intend to use. I will stick with this product and hope to have an aerator installed soon.

I saw a super helpful review on one of these products explaining which of these clear your pond products you should get based on the issue. We were having these strings of algae build up, this cleared it up super quick. I have fountains in both small ponds that helped circulate the product. I do want to mention, we do not have any fish so I can’t comment on that but for what I needed, 100% recommend.

This product is amazing. My pond has never been cleaner. Algea was gone within an hour. I am purchasing a bigger bottle since I was so impressed. Hopefully safe for pets and fish. I didn’t see it on the bottle but it said on the description.

My pond had so much muck and algae. One week later and it's clearing up nicely. I also used barley straw. I can see my fish again and that makes me happy!

I have used this product for several years. It works well. So I bought a bigger now.
