Are they coated with something? I want to stain them, but I didn't want to sand a bunch of wooden beads lol.

This is natural wood，you can paint the wood bead garland, stained or embellished as you want

How do you use the adhesive hooks?

Make sure the surface of the wall is clean and then peel off the film to stick it directly on the wall, and after press it lightly to make it completely stick to the wall.

Any tips where exactly i should install the hooks? My windows measure 58 Inches tall, curtains 96 inches, 8 ft ceiling. Thanks!

It depends on the height of the sill in relation to the floor. In general, keep the tie back just above the sill, as long as it hits below the mid point of the curtain. If it’s mounted higher than the center of the curtain, it could look odd.

How do they connect in the middle?

The end string can be attached to the middle of the bead
