A Game Changer For Sure!
Best decision I’ve made so far!I am absolutely thrilled with my new Garmin Edge 540 cycling computer! From the moment I started using it, I've been incredibly happy with its performance and the wealth of features it offers. It has truly revolutionized my cycling experience and significantly contributed to improving my performance on every ride. One of the greatest standout features, and something my previous unit sorely lacked, is the hill climbing feature. Knowing what's coming, how much elevation is left, and being able to pace myself accordingly has been an absolute game-changer. It's an invaluable tool for optimizing my effort and tackling climbs with a newfound strategy and confidence. This alone makes the 540 worth every penny. Before purchasing, I was aware that the Garmin Edge 540 was not a touchscreen unit like the 840, but honestly, this was not a huge issue for me. The button interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, even with gloves on, and I've found it to be incredibly responsive and reliable. The clarity of the display and the ease of use have far outweighed any desire for a touchscreen.Beyond the fantastic hill climbing feature, I've thoroughly enjoyed utilizing all the other capabilities of the 540. From precise GPS tracking and clear navigation prompts to detailed performance metrics and seamless integration with my other sensors, every feature works flawlessly. I'm constantly impressed by how much data I can access and how effectively it helps me analyze my rides and pinpoint areas for improvement. To any cyclist considering a new computer, I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend the Garmin Edge 540. If you're looking for a robust, feature-rich, and incredibly reliable device that will genuinely help you elevate your cycling performance, look no further. This is a product that delivers on all its promises and then some!

Awesome little bike computer
This bike computer is so cool. It quickly connects to my heart rate monitor and power meter, finds the GPS signal, and is good to ride for hours.I use it with both my indoor trainer and road bike, and it has multiple riding profiles that makes it easy to switch between the two in just a few seconds. The large display is easy to read quickly while riding, even in direct sunlight or shade.

Fairly easy to use
Excellent connectivity. I use the unit on two different model bikes and have no trouble switching back and forth. Syncs with Bontrager Duotrap in seconds. GPS works well. Maps are easy to read. It takes some time to memorize the button functions. Navigating the functions is not intuitive. Occasionally I have trouble loading maps, but that might be an operator issue.

Bigger learning curve then Wahoo but it packs more features
I was so close returning this, My sensor were dropping connection, GPS would not work, my friend told me to do factory reset and it works like a charm ever since. I did a 100 mile ride the other day and the battery is still over 75%. Little harder to use since it’s more packed with features compared to Wahoo Roam, but starting to like this more and more!

Another great cycling computer from Garmin
Solid device. I previously had an Edge 530 and I was very happy with it. The reason I upgraded to the 540 was for the daily suggested workouts, which the 530 lacked. Newer UI is solid. I don't get a ton of battery savings from the solar feature on my typical 1-1.5 hour rides, maybe 5 to 10 minutes but I could see it being very useful on a century ride.

Gives me the data I need
The GPS bike computer world can be confusing and expensive. After using hand-me-downs, the last of which died, I needed a new GPS for a weeklong bike tour. The 540 gave me everything I needed and nothing I didn't. Worked perfectly and with great battery life. Only caution would be if you're going to order a case, get the one from Garmin because it lines up with the buttons and this is not a touch screen.
