Works good!!
This is the second Capmesso pod I've purchased. I have the original pod with screw top, which works good. However, the pod size is a bit smaller than an original nespresso pod, so the coffee is not as strong. Enter the new Capmesso reusable lid that fits on an original nespresso pod. First pic shows my first espresso made from nespresso pod, and the resultant crema in the cup. I then tried the Capmesso top on the pod (which, btw, is a struggle to get the foil film off of!!), which I had filled with a Turkish coffee grind I had. I got about 5 drips out of the cycle, and realized the Turkish grind was too fine, water was not going through the pod. So refilled with a regular, slightly fine, grind of my normal drip coffee. Second picture shows the result. Just slightly less crema, might be due to the grind, but worked great and the strength of the espresso was par with the actual nespresso pod. Good on, Capmesso!

Totally worth it!
The capsule lids work like magic! Im so happy with this product. Easy to use, easy to remove, easy to clean. I wished I knew about this sooner. I am finally able to brew using my own ground coffee on my nespresso vertuoline. I highly recommend this product.

GOOD PRODUCT
Bought this item to supplement the expensive Nespresso pods with some freshly ground coffee. Works as advertised, although you need to work the amount of ground coffee to make sure that you don't get a thin, watery result. I used an expresso pod as well as a regular pod, and both worked well with no leaks. If you pack the coffee down to much you'll end up with a watery result, so I simply add the coffee to the pod and use the disc to tamp down the coffee grinds. Medium-coarse works best to wet all of the capsule. So far so good, and I'll continue to experiment.

A great way to make coffee!
Over the years I've tried several of this and other companies' products. In my opinion, this variation is the best so far. The thing is, I like to experiment with different coffee blends using my Nespresso machine, and the offerings from Nespresso are quite limited. Also, making your own pods is cost-effective...and fun! (My wife, however, can't be bothered so we still have a 90 capsule per month expense with Nespresso). I really enjoy the process of trying new coffees, new blends, adding seasonal spices, etc. This product allows me the flexibility to do just that while reusing the aluminum Nespresso pods my wife generates. BTW, one aluminum pod, once trimmed of its lid and cleaned out, can be reused daily for several months! My process:1. Start with a cleaned-out Nespresso pod placed into an egg cup or similar holder.2. I place 3 scoops (tablespoons) of finely ground espresso coffee into the pod. My favorite is Trader Joes Shade grown, dark roast espresso. Tamp lightly. I then cover the fine-grind coffee with a scoop of regular grind -- sometimes a flavored coffee (or a light sprinkle of a spice like cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, etc., ) for variety. Again tamp lightly. I find an added bonus of doing this step is that the tiny holes around the circumference of the lid are less prone to clogging when in contact with regular grind vs fine grind.3. (Optional Step) Before placing the Capmesso capsule disc in place, I lift the entire unit off the countertop and drop it lightly from approximately 1/2 inch several times. This serves to gently settle/compress the coffee grinds and creates a small space needed to accommodate the lid.4. Brush clean the outer flange (if needed) and place the lid in place pushing down until it stops. Remove the prepared capsule from the egg holder and you're ready to brew just as you would with the manufacturer's original pod. This entire process of preparing the pod takes precisely 60 seconds! And my friends and family agree the coffee that comes out is even better than the original manufacturer's pod, including the perfect foamy head!In my opinion, this generation of Capmesso product is better than the last which had an aluminum cap that screwed onto a reusable pod. This version allows you to use 20-25% more coffee grinds. This means a larger and stronger cup of coffee -- equal to what you'd expect from the original Nespresso product.I can't imagine Capmesso coming up with a better device, but I'm pretty sure they won't stop trying!

horrible
Because Nespresso has bar codes on the bottom of these pods you must pull out every bit of foil in the lip so the top goes on appropriately. My coffee tasted horrible and was always weak. Essentially its is very difficult to use and often the water overflows the entire surrounding area of the capsule (even though its packed properly) and drips down into the capsule catcher. Wished I'd save the box so i could return it. So far, a total rip off. All i want is a good tasting coffee and none of Nepresso's are worth it.

Works Great!
As much as I love my Nespresso it was disheartening that I couldn't have my Starbucks Peppermint Mocha coffee this year. And, then I discovered this reusable lid. Honestly, I was kind of 50/50 on if it would actually work well. I had refillable coffee pods in the past for my old Keurig and they didn't always work.I was impressed that I received an email right away from the seller with kind of common challenges when using these and how to correct them. However, I found that I didn't even need those. I followed the directions and it worked great! I mean, it's messy cleaning out the old Nespresso pod, but not a huge deal. So, not only do I get to enjoy a more varied coffee selection, I also am going to save some money. That is a win win in my book!!

Should have heeded the reviews...
I wanted to love this lid because it really did a great job for the first few weeks brewing great coffee on my Nespresso Virtuo, but then my machine started having issues and refused to work. I descaled it (twice) because that was the light that came on, but it overheated every time I tried using this lid. Unfortunately, I cannot use it anymore without risking my espresso machine breaking, so I've gone back to using original pods. It was great while it lasted, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

really wanted it to work with the ground coffee I buy
I really like the idea of this and it was very easy to use and clean. However, I never could get it to make a decent cup of coffee using the ground beans that I regularly buy (Black Rifle Just Black and Starbucks Espresso for her). It would jam the machine and blink red, sometimes making a mess. I think that if I ground my own coffee I would be able to find what works well with it. But not today.
