Works well and makes the position of studs very clear

Detected power no problem.
Used this to avoid power cables when putting shelves up in she’d. Power cables are running through the walls. Works well.

Nice piece of equipment
Nice piece of kit for the price. Feels a bit plasticky/flimsy. I don’t think it would with stand dropping repeatedly or from height. Sensitivity/accuracy is usually good but it is worth checking out the YouTube videos about indefinite results and false positives.

Job done
Simple and effective. Accurate and does the job, unlike cheaper finders that I have tried. Get what u pay for and Franklin lead the way in this market . Would recommend.

Quality Baten Finder...... And then some.
I have tried many Baten finders, most are unreliable, the rest are just gimmicks, that just don't work. Cheap or expensive it's very hard to find one that's "The real deal" I needed one for a job, so I thought I would try this. The Franklin Industries ProSensor X990. Well, I must say, I was very impressed. Every reading I tried was bang on. No false readings just accurate readings every time. It also finds power cables behind plaster boards and 2 ⚡ symbols illuminate yellow when found. One thing I thought was cool is, when the red leads find a Baten, it's center led turns green to indicate center of Baten. And......... it's very very accurate. Great product, for a reasonable price. They do have higher priced models but, this was fine for what I needed. Highly recommended.

Didn't work
I just bought this and tried it for quite a while using new batteries. Didn't find any studs in walls, floors or ceilings. Sent it straight back. (It did seem to find some electrical cables but this isn't what I bought it for)

Okish
Not massively impressed by this product, to be honest I've bought 3 different stud finders though amazon and find they're all super sensitive and light up inconsistently though.I kept this third one as:- fed up trying/returning stud finders, accepted the level of precision I was after isn't there for less than £40- I do think it is worth having one of these- theyre fairly cheap,- does provide additional data/comfort before nailing into walls/floors etc (have nailed a central heating pipe before hence the purchase) but if you want to be precise and get a nail in a tight spot (between 2 close obstacles) this will light up all over the place and not help give you confidence i was hoping to get out of these.- Also when i ran experiments before doing any actual nailing I find it doesn't reliably pick up "deep" items (i.e. 3-5cm away from the scanner surface gave false positives, gave no result etc).It is easy to useNot sure how sturdy it is, put it this way I definitely don't want my kids to get their hands on it in case they drop or fling it, nor do i want it at bottom of my tool box under hammers and wrenches, do think you need to treat with some care

So much better than traditional stud detectors
I've spent far too much on different stud detectors of the usual design - a screen to pinpoint the centre, and two sensors one at each side. They do their thing, but they never give me much confidence because I don't need to know the centre of the stud, I need to know how wide it is and where there's hollow and where stud. The Franklin does all of that through a row of LEDs, I wish I could show a video. You can see the width of the stud as a row of lit up LEDs along the length of the device, and if there's mains electricity, then the electricity lights light up to warn you. What would I like to see? Depth, and perhaps the depth of the plaster/ drywall. But you can't have everything (at least I don't think anyone has done that?).Absolutely brilliant, and although it's expensive, it's cheaper than buying 4 ordinary ones that end up not doing the job as I've done before this.
