I use a lot of Shelly products and they're great
Ive installed a few hundred Ahelly devices and have a large intertwined setup of notifications, scenes, UNIs and such. Let me tell you, forst time you get one of these they are the lowest cost solution to put in an IoT solution and can keep a company's costs down if done right. If you do not have experience with Java, Logics, AC or DC voltages, this may be beyond your capability. These controllers once installed must be programmed and work best if interacting with other Shelly devices. When an input is sensed, either from a physical button, switch, or from a form of automation like a PLC, you can trigger events and conditions to have other devices carry out a pre determined result such as if an input goes high, trigger a light or series of lights to turn red.The cloud control works very well, usually its the wifi people have a problem with. Its best to bluetooth or WifiAP access the device on a bench, program ot to what you need it to do, mark it, then install it. Trying to sense and install a device off bluetooth in an are with a lot of EMI (electromagnetic interference) will be hard. Just use your head, and if this is too complicated for you, there are more user friendly solutions put there. Pick what works for you!

This does not replace a switch!
Product works great, well packaged. The app has a 2 star rating so do your research. Also if you are getting this to work as a switch IT DOES NOT! This is only to send a signal to another device that it's on or off. You CANNOT wire this into a normal light switch or outlet and expect to turn that light on or off. It is just to signal, the light is on or off. That's it.

Great product… But another screwed up Amazon delivery
These really are well constructed, and I highly recommend them. Too bad I have not received my most recent purchase of this item.

Not intuitive and lacks user ease of use.
The software used with Shelly's Plus i4 and the Add-on is NOT intuitive. No tool-tips; mouse-overs don't give tips. Are we supposed to memorize what all those idiotic icons are for? Not Egyption! Frequency of reading is limited to one-minute interval, yet the charts only update HOURLY and only HOURLY reading is logged. No charting for the i4 digital inputs!, and only the Add-On has charting. Screws on the wire bus connections are really too small. This is a difficult product to use. Updates to charts occur AFTER a full hour of data has accumulated; not real-time and is aggregated ON THE HOUR; makes no sense to do it that way! No way to combine data from all the inputs into one chart. CSV export data contains AGGREGATED readings and is HOURLY; no detail data. In this day and age, the difficulty of usage is not worth the hassle. Does NOT plot the 4 digital inputs. Plotting only works with the Shelly Add-On. No way to bolt these down! Loses on-line connectivity intermittently. Unit uses ESP32. Probably loss of WiFi is because of ESP32 power saving mode; this is a KNOWN PROBLEM w/ESP32 WiFi Shelly!

Tried Shelly products twice now - defective garbage and horrible app
I purchased two different Shelly devices and both are total defective garbage, The first didn't do what it was supposed to do, the second did not work at all.It is clear to me that Shelly is sub par tech. You can tell from their app that they do not have a lot of competence on their team. The app crashes during device setup process, the on off buttons don't trigger devices that are setup.Save yourself a lot of headaches and stay away from Shelly products.Grade F
