Do you have a musty, almost moldy smell in your shed , storage, crawl space or other area?
The media could not be loaded. For this project I used 3 items together to install and set up an automated variable speed exhaust fan controlled by temperature. There are many other ways thatt this can be done but I chose to go this route simply because of the quality and efficiency of the thermostat and speed controller and variable speed fan in conjunction with one another. In the first picture you can see where I drilled a pilot hole from the exterior of the building into the interior to see exactly where I was on the inside of the building. Once I knew I simply found my center point between the studs and marked out my rough opening. After cutting through the plywood from the inside and the sheet metal siding from the outside I started to take more precise measurements of my exhaust fan louvered shell. At this point I realized the thickness of the wall was more than double what I had expected. So I took some sheet metal and fabricated a transition piece from the louvered casing , through the wall, and into the storage building. I then took some fairly heavy duty aluminum window screen type material and screened just inside the louveres to keep out bugs because it didn’t come with anything already on or with or even an add on option. I attached the motor to my transition piece and wired up the thermostat to a pigtail (extension cord cut off with male ends still attached, and also wired up the motor speed controller. I set my lowest speed setting with my speed controller so as not to harm the motor with too low of rpms. I then took some of the exact metal siding that he had leftover and cut and fit it so it would hardly be noticeable. He said he was going to paint the rivers but don’t have the updated picture. He is very pleased with the ease of use, efficiency, and the professional install. He did question why I didn’t just silicone the outside and be done with it. I simply told him that you’ll like it much more the way I’m gonna trim it out. And, boy, he was eatatic at how much better it looked at the finished product. I highly recommend all three of these products and do offer many other services if you can appreciate when things are done the right way.

Thermostat exact replacement
This type thermostat had been installed in a Sun City garage--vitally necessary in the excessively hot summer to cool things down when a hot engine is confined with the garage door down. I found this one which seems to be an exact replacement of the original, which had failed after 20 years or more. So I opted for this as the installation was a simple remove and replace rather than reconfigure and rewire with something digital. Installed and working fine. I would definitely recommend, but a couple puzzling comments: 1) most such devices advertise a turn-on or a turn-off temp setting. The adjustable dial shows the temp setting but no idea and none in the very brief literature about whether it is the turn-on or turn-off temp. 2) The heading calls this an "adjustable, programmable". I would remove the word programmable. It clearly is adjustable but in no way is programmable, as the term is usually applied to a digital device--and this device is wholly analog as near as I can tell. All in all, a good replacement and working fine.

Worked 2 days then didn't. Then started working again before I could swap it out.
This I have mixed feelings with. After installing it worked great for 3 days. Then the fan would stay on all night with the temps in The lower 50s upper 40s ( it's set at 90 degrees). I bought a 2nd 1 to swap out the 1st 1. We'll i go to swamp it out . And it's now seems to be working correctly. So I have the back up in waiting for the next time.
