Junk
I spent 30 minutes trying to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I followed the instructions, it just doesn't work. I tried until the buttons started wearing down.I should have spent the extra money and bought the trail tech. This thing is a piece of junk.

First one was defective, second one works well
I ordered this for my vintage Yamaha Enduro. The first one I received would show the temperature, but the buttons didn't work at all, so I couldn't change any of the settings, or turn on the back light. I contacted the seller and they quickly provided me a refund, and let me keep the unit.I then used it for a couple of weeks to test it's temp reading. It was showing accurate temperatures, compared to my IR temperature gun, though only in centigrade, so I decided to order another one. The second one is working fine, the buttons function, and I'm able to change the settings, though it's a little bit quirky to set. The instructions are a bit vague, but I kept playing around with it and was able to get all the settings I wanted done. What I like about this one, compared to other more expensive brands, is that the battery is changeable, and it sells for a great price. So knowing that you may have to get a second or third one, I recommend this product, especially at the lower price point of around $27.

Good idea, bad quality
I bought this for my air-cooled thumper motorcycle. It's a really simple bike and tuning the carburetor jets is usually done by measuring peak cylinder head temperature at wide open throttle.Installation was pretty simple. The copper ring goes underneath the spark plug and the unit gets mounted somewhere you can see it. So far so good. I made a mounting plate for it and removed the protective cover over the battery so that I could install the display. The display unit promptly started showing the ambient temperature, which was around 53 degrees at the time. OK, that's good, at least I know it works. Except that the display doesn't turn off. Weird. Check the instructions and there's no mention of powering the unit off. Well, maybe it draws so little power that the display can stay on the entire time. After installation I started it up and let the engine idle a while. The temperature reading came up with what I thought was a realistic number for an engine idling with no load (between 200 and 250 degrees). I took the bike for a ride and the peak temperature was a little over 300 degrees. Seems reasonable, though there seemed to be some lag in how quickly the temperature reading refreshes. Then yesterday I went for a longer ride. After about an hour, the display only shows ERR. The buttons are responsive and the backlight turns on, but I'm not getting a temperature reading. No obvious damage to the wire or anything-- it's just dead. The display is also starting to get a little dim, probably from being on all the time for the last month or so.I regret buying this thing. The display is OK but the refresh rate is lackluster at best, and it doesn't look very robust. Maybe changing the battery will fix mine. Maybe I overlooked something simple. Maybe there's a way to shut off the display that I didn't find in the instructions. Maybe I'll mess with it some more and try to get it to work again.More likely, however, I'll do what I should have done from the beginning-- spend the money on a better version, perhaps one with more features. This unit is at the lower limit of functionality, and unless you're really on a tight budget you should probably aim a little higher.

Reset buttons don’t work
Only reads in centigrade calibration; cannot be reset to Fahrenheit, in spite of what the instructions claim

id give 5 stars if it had option to keep backlight on, other than that its tough. spliced into the wires to lengthen with no probs
