auto Winder for extruder

Nice product. I have a great time with this winder. You must protect optical sensor from external lights because of reflection. Also seller give me some instructions how to control delay time after optical interrupter switch off the winder.

I have received the item with screws wobbling around inside of it but so far it is still running without any issues

This is a cheap winder, and as someone commented, came with loose screws holding the motors inside. i recommend opening the device up and tightening everything as soon as you get it.It is very simple inside, and has two ac synchronous motors, one for the spool, and one for the feeder (the thing that moves the filament across the width of the spool).one issue is that when the optical sensor is blocked, and the spool motor stops, the feeder motor does not.I'm just using this for respooling filament, so the optical sensor is used to stop the motor when the filament runs out. So the fix for me is to just move the feeder motor power wire (its just 2 wire AC) to the output of the relay that switches power for the spool motor, so that they both stop.The feeder motor will start up rotating in a random direction, so this wouldn't work if you are using it as intended (which is whey they didn't do this i assume).The feeder doesn't work well, so I'm going to try the rubber band solution someone else mentioned. There was a spring in the feeder mechanism also, that pinged out at one point, nearly taking my eye out - be warned!.It's designed to use the spools that came with it, which are not the ones i want to use, so I printed some adapters. this means the range of the feeder is too large (ie it moves too far in and out for the width of the spool). Again, an easy fix, the feeder motor changes direction when it encounters resistance greater than it's torque rating (which is fairly high). So I printed a spacer, to make the out distance correct, and a small block that fits between the feeder and the case, to block the in movement, and make it change direction.A cheap spooler, but easily customizable to do what you want - in my case, respool large filament reels onto smaller spools that fit my Sindoh cassettes. better that my hacked together electric drill rig.

The optical sensor does not see clear filament if you plan on buying this to spool clear filament you will need something to trigger the optical sensor I 3D printed a solution that works great see picture also the filament slips out the guide every now and then even if the guide is tight I fix that problem with a rubber band keep in mind there's not very much information out there on this product so if you run into problems YouTube and the instruction sheet won't help you you'll have to call the company which I haven't had to do yet I've owned this product for a few months now and I would still buy this product knowing what I know now it works great

How to adjust delay time between each start of the winder, 10 sec is too long.
