Kitchen Grips 2 Piece Short Handle Set, Cherry/Black

Great product! Very handy for a variety of uses, and dishwasher safe, too! I've been scouring retail stores for years for the mitt version of this material, at first to find more like the ones I'd liked and been using so much, and later because after many years of use I'd become increasingly concerned I wouldn't be able to ever find replacements if that became necessary. I'd searched Amazon several times over the years without success too, but finally scrolled Google images of pot holders, saw the Kitchen Grips, and located on Amazon not only the mitt pot holders I'd been searching for, but also these excellent short grips, too. Great for Le Creuset Dutch oven handles and lids, and also most other short handles and lids on cookware and ovenware, also great for removing hot plates, bowls and measuring cups from the microwave. I feel a sense of being able to get a surer grip on things with holders made of this type material than I have with conventional, quilted fabrics, or silicone holders. It would be nice, however, if there were a slightly larger size version of these short grips, as well, that would more easily accommodate people with extraordinarily large hands like my husband--he can use these, too, but would be more comfortable using a slightly larger version, I'm sure. I'd bought 2 pairs (4) of these short grips to start with and 2 of the Kitchen Grips full mitts, but I'll certainly be stocking up on these now that I've finally found them again! They are an excellent value, besides being excellent products.

I wanted something for hot lid knobs. I have larger ones for my pot side handles. But my staub dutch oven lid knob gets quite hot. It’s round and some reviewers said this won’t work for round knobs. It does for me. True, it’s not really made for grabbing a round knob, but I make it work just fine. You just slip one side of gripper over one side of the round knob and then cover the other side of the round knob with other side of gripper. Grabs it pretty easily to me. I can’t find anything better.

I'm a bit clumsy with large potholders--especially when trying to grab smaller or shallower items. I find the kitchen grips very useful for grabbing the sides of hot bowls or plates after microwaving. This is my second set (I misplaced the first when I moved and I sorely missed them).

These are perfect for pot handles, pot tops and they even help with grabbing dishes out of the microwave. You won’t feel the heat. They don’t stain. Highly recommend.

These handle holders do exactly what I need them to do. They keep me from burning my fingers, or using up papertowels for hot handles, when I am cooking. Having said this, the only thing I would do to make these even better would be to make them about half and inch deeper. They JUST cover the handles and I always like to have a bit more coverage for added comfort. Kinda like my potholders. I like to have the bigger ones just in case part of it slips over and exposes my hand to the hot dish. But, all in all, these do what I need them to do so I would recommend them.

I used these today to pull a muffin tin out of a 375° oven using 2 grippers. I was able to walk it across the kitchen without burning my fingers - just slight warmth. This was a reorder due to losing the last set, so I looked at all of the newer all silicon grippers. All of them had one or more reviews saying that not to use them to pull stuff out of the oven. They are a bit cheaper than this one, but I think these are well worth the money. At the same time, they are small enough to navigate the toaster oven. They cover the tips of my fingers on one pocket and the thumb fits in the other pocket. Both pockets are the same size. I am so glad to have them back in my kitchen!

When I first rec'd them, I was surprised at how small they were. But, used them now about 4 times and I'm very pleased. They work well to slide out my oven racks, remove a handled, heavy casserole dish, etc. I leave one of them sitting on top of my tea kettle knob for easy access. I think they work fine. Prob. not particularly suited to handle a long, uninsulated pot or pan handle.

I bought these to help manage a large wok and found that they open just a bit too far for me at the split, causing me to be concerned that they might fall off at a critical moment. I used some elastic cord to run a loop through and tied it off, tightening the "clam shell effect". Still leaves it flexible enough for pinching and easy on and off but just makes the grip slightly more secure.The heat resistance is excellent and these are just the right size and thickness to get a really good grip on the pot handles. I love that they easily rinse clean of any messes. Pleased with this purchase and highly recommended.

Love these tiny oven mitts and use them every day!

I had bought a pot without realizing it had metal handles that get VERY hot on my gas range. I needed something to protect my fingers and these were perfect. I just put them on when I need to move the pot and they are very secure, I don't feel like I've lost grip or it's going to slip. Without something like this I wouldn't be able to use my pot, so I'm very happy with them.

Perfect for pot handles and for taking plates out of microwave. Haven't risked taking anything out of my gas oven, but they aren't intended for that anyway.
