Does this remote fall asleep like the controller and needs to be woken up with the Xbox button?

When I pick up the remote from the table, the lights turn on. So I don't know that I have to press the button to wake it up so much as move it. It is nice because the lighting of the buttons helps you see what button you press if it is dark.

Can I use this remote to control my sound bar?

I have this remote and it DOES NOT control my sound bar.

Dose it use ir to use?

Yes. All the Xbox media remotes by this and other brands use the console's IR port to communicate. I found there wasn't much difference between this manufacturer's and another remote I owned in how responsive the xbox was. What ended up determining how finicky the xbox was to respond was the console and its placement. The way my entertainment center was set up, the xbox one was more difficult to hit the sweet spot than the Xbox Series X I got later. You can also get IR repeaters that you have a receiver you can stick somewhere on your entertainment center that is easily accessible to where you point your remote, and a transmitter that you stick on the xbox's IR port, that way you won't have any problems getting the xbox to respond if it's inside a cabinet or otherwise hard to hit the console's IR sweet spot. I never bothered to do that though once I upgraded to the Series X as I no longer really had problems with IR reception.

Decent, but missing a key capability

Why are there no good native remotes anymore??Good remote, works well, but is missing the ability to skip episodes or go back to the beginning of the episode (FFW/RWD episode/movie). Missing that button pair has made this not very useful in my day to day.

Not as described, remote is Infra Red not Wireless

Bought this assuming it’s a wireless remote given the description, but it’s not wireless it’s infra red and if the Xbox is not in line of sight it won’t work. Waste of my money given my Xbox is hidden.
