DK Eyewitness Istanbul (Travel Guide) Paperback – Folded Map, June 21, 2016

I amusing this to get the lay of the land, and a rough idea of what I want to see beyond the normal tour. I like the way it was broken down by neighborhood. Map was also useful

I like the small DK guides for a single city. Maps are convenient and great details for the sights. If you've already selected your hotel, and most of us start with that reservation, there's no need for a guide that takes up space with lots of hotels. Most of that info is quickly outdated. Instead the DK focuses on the sights, day trip and must-sees. I prefer that type of guide.

Very informative but at times overwhelming. Simple tips are sometimes the best..

We loved having this on our trip to Turkey. It provided hours of reading plus it enhanced what our private guide had to share. When we leftTurkey, I gifted the book to our guide, as he loved it. Then I purchased a second copy to keep and review as we recall what a fabulous trip it was.

The maps alone make this an excellent purchase. The photographs and descriptions are also wonderful. The guide to public transportation for each destination is not always clear and easy to follow.

Book is very informative, but arrived without the map which was supposed to be included. Amazon would not send just the map to me, which is what I needed.
