Works as advertised. No drivers needed. However, won't connect wirelessly to bluetooth speakers.
It works as advertised. No need for drivers. You just plug it in and connect your cables and it's good to go. I have two different inputs coming in to the Presonus, one from my computer and one from my Focusrite recording interface. This allows me to play sound from my computer though my monitor speakers without having to use my Focusrite interface. No more switching cabled back and forth. I was also able to add a subwoofer using the sub out on the Presonus. It works flawlessly and does not seem to introduce noise to the signal. Having a sub out is crucial for me because my JBL speakers don't have a sub output. You can connect a bluetooth device in to the presonus like a phone, but a downside is that it won't seem to pair with an external speaker without a cable. I was hoping to be able to play music and stream to some bluetooth speakers, but it doesn't seem possible.

Great for gaming
It’s perfect for what I wanted it for, to connect my monitor with my studio speakers, would recommend for anyone who want to use their bigs for gaming & no interface to connect them to.

Works great and looks good, but READ THIS:
UPDATE: Even using a specifically 5V power adapter still has the weird high pitched noise. I don't know how to remedy it.First off, the design is nice and compact. I love how they added their lit up logo on the top; I have multiple presonus products so you'll see that lit up logo all around my desk. everything you need to control your monitors and sub are on the top, and the ports on the back are sturdy and easy to understand. The sound quality is pretty much the same if not that, as plugging it through direct to the speakers. There is one specific thing you (in my opinion) NEED to do if you want to use it correctly though. I would advise AGAINST plugging it into your PC or a USB Hub. This is only a controller and there's no drivers necessary so you wouldn't need to do that anyway. What I HIGHLY recommend to do, however, is to make sure you plug your usb cable into a power brick, say for an iPhone or something similar, that is SPECIFICALLY 5 volts. You'll notice on the back where the USB C power port is that it even says DC=5V. If you plug into a powered USB hub, or into the back of your computer, Or pretty much (from my experience) into ANYTHING that is NOT specifically 5 Volts, you will get this faint but audible high pitched squealing when you have the volume knob at 3 and 9 o'clock. And I know it has to do with the power because you'll hear the same noise even if you have everything BUT the power usb cable plugged in. So, if you have any of those mini apple chargers left over, use that to plug in the USB since those are rated for 5V only. The sound should be pretty much entirely gone when you do this. That is the only little quirk about this device, othewise I think it's a great product and perfect if you have your interface somewhere a little farther out of reach. Being able to pair your phone to your monitors through this box is also an additonal bonus as well if you just want to listen to music off your phone on your system. I personally use this paired with presonus eris e5 monitors and their eris sub8 subwoofer. The sub bypass button is really handy as well if you don't want to have the low end extension for certain listening purposes.

Pro Level Audio Device, PreSonus Rocks
Especially handy for adding subwoofer if your system does not have a sub out. Mute function. Best part is this has TRS in/out. If you don't know what that means, don't sweat it but understand that TRS = good or professional-level. TRS cables and adaptors are more expensive but much, much quieter and reject noise like RF interference.Box is metal, great quality. Quality D/A conversion. Bluetooth reception is great but, as with seemingly all BT receivers, volume is a bit low, so I added on a line-level volume booster https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0945RFJ6Z after this device and before my receiver. Highly recommended.

Pleasant sound. Reliable Bluetooth
I use this for HD audio streaming from my iPhone to my studio monitors. Sometimes I use the Bluetooth function but other times I use the wired 3.5mm stereo connection (auxiliary in). With a wired connection I can stream up to 24-bit/48 kHz which is the iPhones DAC limit. Bluetooth on good recordings sounds fairly good but not as good as when wired. With the PreSonus in the audio chain there is a slight bass enhancement.I can't detect any noise or distortion in the system the way I have it set up. I did get a slight hum when I tried to hook it up to my Mac so now I just use my phone. The Bluetooth is reliable and I've only had to pair it once. I like it a lot. It's clean looking and I like having an output control....but it does not have its own internal DAC. This is where Personus really missed the mark. If it had a high quality DAC then I could stream Ultra High Resolution audio to my speakers. (The iPhones internal DAC is bypassed when an external DAC is hooked up downstream). Everything on the market is designed for musicians with multiple inputs and recording options and they need a PC to function. I don't want all that. I want this with an upscale DAC. I will probably try a headphone amplifier with a good DAC and see if 24bit 96kHz and better recordings make an actual audible difference. There are multiple ways to hook this up to your phone or laptop. Currently on my setup the iPhone is first then a USBC to 3.5mm female stereo jack gets plugged into the USBC jack on the phone. Then a male to male 3.5mm stereo cable plugs into that and lastly the other end of the 3.5mm cable plugs into the auxiliary input jack on the back of the MicroStation. The Bluetooth button on the station is pushed to switch the input from wired to Bluetooth. I do not get a balanced signal with the 3.5mm stereo cable but there is no noise to speak of. Occasionally the headphone amplifier in the IPhone will be my source and it sounds terrible. It’s thin, brittle and bright sounding. To cut it off I will have to go into Settings, then Sounds & Haptics, then Headphone Safety, then USB Audio Accessories, then click Forget All USB Accessories then click FORGET again when it pops up in a dialogue box. Lastly turn off “Connected To Headphones ” before you leave that screen. The Connected To Headphones on off switch only appears if you are plugged into something downstream. It will appear right above Forget All USB Accessories. The specs say the MicroStation's frequency response is 20to20kHz. My Focal speakers are 20 to 40kHz. I assume that when I use the wired function and bypass the bluetooth that none of this applies to me but I'm not sure. PreSonus hasn't been very forthcoming with how this thing works.I'm generally happy with it but I'm still frustrated that I still need to buy an external DAC to see if ultra high quality audio makes a difference.
