Alcantaras graze in the highest Andes mountain meadows. Sorry. just kidding!:-) Actually, Alcantara is a man-made material that fares best when you use the right product to care for it. Race Glaze Alcantara Cleaner - Features Spray a fine mist, leave to soak for a minute or so and squeeze gently and then rub gently with a soft cloth. Changing the cloth regularly is essential to prevent reapplication of dirt. It is advisable to mask off surrounding painted plastic surfaces to ensure colour fastness. Race Glaze Alcantara Cleaner - Description An effective spray on cleaner without VOCs for Alcantara items like car seats and door trim, clothing, footwear and household furniture. It will remove general soiling without resorting to the traditional risky method of shaving your seats. It is water based and includes surfactants, no harsh chemicals. Contains an active ingredient which wipes out up to 99.9% all microbial bacteria & prevents the growth of MRSA, Salmonella, Listeria, E-coli, Legionella and Aspergillus Niger (mold).

Worked well
I purchased this product to clean the Alcantara in my '05 Pontiac Bonneville GXP. Used it as directed and it did a really nice job of making the material look like new. It claims it will clean and clean it does. Guess I can't ask for much more than that. That's not to say a little Woolite in water wouldn't have done as well but I wasn't about to chance it, instead went with the cleaner made for the material. Did drop one star because of the price, seems a little spendy but then again it worked so maybe I shouldn't complain.

... the alcantara on my steering wheel and it looked worse than when it was dirty
Followed all the instructions to the letter and it just ruined the alcantara on my steering wheel and it looked worse than when it was dirty. Eventually caused me to sell/replace the wheel costing me $1000!
