A reliable sturdy tool
What can I say... It's built sturdy enough that it doesn't break first day on the job. I've used the tool on the small Anderson connectors as well as the bigger beefier.

I think this tool is essential.
It really helped with placing the wires into the power pole connectors

Great, an absolute necessity
Why did you pick this product vs others?:If you are working with Anderson Power Poles, you need this tool. I tried to do without it, but it just isn't practical. Not happy with the price because in my engineering days these are the kind of tools vendors would give away to customers. <sigh>

Must have tool for power pole work
Pushes the control into place and can remove if needed. Perfect tool if you make or use anderson power pole connectors often

Expensive for what it is but you need it for lower gauge/thin wires
Recently had a project where I had to create a bunch of removable 12v power connections with Anderson Powerpole connectors. I was using 14-gauge zip cord, which is very flexible. I found that 14-gauge zip cord used with the 30-amp Powerpole connectors was too flexible to be inserted into the connector. The wire would just fold on itself and I couldn't get the metal connector to "click" into the plastic housing. I used this tool to push the metal tab into the housing and it works well. I haven't used this tool to extract the metal tabs yet and probably never will, so can't comment on that part. You could use a small screwdriver to do the same thing, but this tool was designed to fit into the Powerpole connectors. It works. Buy once, cry once.

Not necessary, but works
I use this with the smaller Anderson connectors, you can do the same thing with a small screwdriver, so the tool isn't completely necessary. But since I already own a bunch of Anderson connectors, I figured I buy one just to have it. It works great with the removal of the pins in the Anderson connectors.

Necessary tool for Anderson Powerpole work!
necessary tool

A waste of money
The "U" shaped section is too narrow for anything other than the smallest gauge wires, and this thing doesn't do anything that a small flat blade screwdriver can't do.. I never should have purchased it. I found this to be of no benefit when trying to insert or remove connectors to the housing.
