It works🙂
The media could not be loaded. So! I’ll start by saying that I believe the product is overpriced. But since it was the only alternative I could find, I’ll still give it 5 stars. Our faucet was a bit too small, so we had to trim the pipe, but even despite that, everything works great. The main thing is to adjust everything properly.

Good idea but dangerously flawed design
Great Shame ..Good idea but design is flawed! to simplistic and doesn’t address the obvious namely.. is NOT CHILD FRIENDLY!! Requires far to much fiddling to get it to work at all! Nerve wracking and agitating because of inherent backflow and flooding issue not to mention real high risk of SCALDING !! Get it sorted and I’ll reorder!!

Successful Device for Mixing Hot & Cold Water - With Reservations
I'm going to give the Retromixer 4 Stars for a great inspired idea, which does what it sets out to do.It would probably be fairer to give it a 3.5 in my case, considering all the troubles I had installing it.I bought the Retromixer, as my wife doesn't like the separate hot and cold water taps, and is used to using a mixer tap.My understanding was that it would fit all standard taps, so long as they were between 16 - 24cm apart.Mine were in that range, so I fully expected to fit it with no issues or problems. When the Retromixer arrived, I could immediately see that my tap spouts were not going to be small enough to fit into the Retromixer holes.I was ready to return it, when the idea came to me that I could enlarge the holes using a Dremel drill. It became clear that if I enlarged the hole, then one of the two tabs which held the silicone strap would have to be sacrificed. In the end, I was able to encircle the taps with the silicone strap, and tie the strap to the same outer notch. See photos. The Amazon description now states that the taps should be no larger than 2.5cm, but when I bought, this restriction was not noted.I am writing this review 6 months down the line, and it has functioned well. It does mix the hot and cold water well, but not perfectly... There is still part of the water stream which feels hotter and part which feels cooler. The silver water diffuser might have helped, but it started falling out repeatedly a few weeks into its use, and after a while I gave up and left it off permanently. The Amazon review was prompted this morning when I decided to take it off for a thorough cleaning. Left for 6 months, it was starting to get visible algae inside, and many of the surfaces were thickly coated with hard water. It took about 20 minutes to clean properly, although I have no doubt it would have been quicker had I cleaned it more regularly. It is however significantly more difficult for me to take off and replace the device with the changes I made to the design. A final 'negative point' is that the hot water has significantly discoloured the transparent bits of the plastic which it was in contact with. It has turned those 'see-through' bits white - as shown in the photo.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. It does what I need it to do, and has a reasonably tidy look to it. I like how you can propel the water forward and away from the edge of the sink. It does require some care and maintenance though, and due in my case to an unusually wide tap spout, my one took more than 2 hours of customised tinkering to finally install.

Not worth the price
It’s easy to instal and it fits well. Looks great (not and eye sore). Doesn’t really mixes the water, it’s very hard to get the right temperature. I have to open the hot and then try a few times with the cold. Tap wise, if you open too much overflows and goes everywhere, if you don’t open enough there’s two separate streams. Also water stays inside of it when you turn it off, which puts me off a little but cuz it’s sitting there until you use it again. It serves it’s purpose more or less but it is way too expensive for what it can do (£20). I needed it badly to wash my toddler hands but if you don’t need it badly I wouldn’t recommend.

Essential adaptor for my basin taps
I purchased a Retromixer about six years ago when we moved to our home which has a bathroom basin with separate hot and cold taps. As I cannot bear washing my face in the morning with cold water, I use the Retromixer, which means I can regulate the water temperature to a pleasant warmth.I have had incredible service from the Retromixer suppliers: when I’ve contacted them when the silicone straps have shown signs of wear and tear, they have provided replacement straps immediately. Highly recommended product!

Brilliant
I don’t normally write reviews and as I normally go by reviews, in this instance I felt I had to put pen to paper or finger to keyboard to write this review, as there have been so many negatives about the device. You have to have a little patience which I think some on here don’t have! You have to tweak here and there with the water flow to stop it leaking and also getting the temperature right and you’ll get there in the end. I love this because I had a mixer tap previously and I miss it, as I like to get the water hot but not super hot and wash up with a loaded squeegee that way.
