General Imaging PJ205 ipico Handheld LED Personal Projector for Apple iPhone/iPod Touch - Retail Packaging - White

it just arrived, and i was exited. who cares about the packaging. lets get to the device. i had to charge it first and after 1hr30mins it was ready to go, keep in mind the instructions say it takes a full 4hrs to charge so i am guessing mine had a bit of power before hand. i turned it on and hooked it up to my iphone 4s and i was excited until it told me to install an app. so i go to the app store and it tells me that the app is no longer available. i was now frustrated because i couldn't get the stupid app. kept telling me it was not available in the USA. sooooo i started just playing with it and disregarding the app. i went straight to netflixs and it worked without having the app and i was again excited. also keep in mind my iphone 4s is on ios 7.1.1. i played a movie off netfliixs with no problems it was actually very cool. moving on i tried amazon instant video and it did not work. so... i was confused how can it work with netflixs but not amazon.... anyways not such a let down since they are alike anyways. i tried a photo and it did not work. i tired youtube and it did not work. i tried facebook and it did not work. sooo at this point i was like s*** it only works with netflixs which is fine so i tried syncing my videos from itunes. videos worked from iphone video app. reminder this is without the ipico app that i cant get for what ever reason. i tried my icloud streaming and it did not work. sooooo basically the only thing i can use this projector for right now that i have been able to figure out is apples video app and netflixs. which i am fine with for right now. i contacted ipico support to find out more but havnt heard back yet. will post changes as i get them and maybe ill do a youtube video review.

This thing is cool, and it does work well to do a few things. My kids love it. I purchased this because it is the only one in this price range that supports the full native resolution of the iPhone 4/4S. Note, it will not work with the iPhone 5. I was frustrated for a while because the aspect ratio of videos seemed off. The device seems to squash images and videos in a weird way. I searched online and called the company for a fix and couldn't get an answer. I was about to return it when my friend said, "did you go into the settings and change the video out to wide screen?". This solved the problem!!! Now NetFlix looks great. I have two problems with it that kept me from giving it a 5 start review, though. 1.)This only works with apps that support video out - so it is not a screen mirroring device. And 2.)There is absolutely no way to stand this thing up so you can project on the ceiling without holding it. I find this annoying. The phone attaches in a somewhat precarious way, and it will not stand on end. That's why I bought it, so I could project stuff on my ceiling while lying in bed. I plan on printing a stand on my 3d printer, but as of yet have not taken the time. I hope they correct this in the next version.

All in all, it's not a bad device. Cheap. But the drawbacks are color vibrancy, audio output comes through your phone, 3pin doesn't connect to your phone well, zooms in on videos with no out zoom capabilities. But still it's fine and best to have around. I would not use this unless you wanted a cute little mini date with a partner, definitely not for presentations. Connects to YouTube and Internet though, which is a plus. Plays your own photos and videos easily. Must download the free ipico app for it to be compatible with your phone. Takes too long to charge and battery drains quickly.

Positives:-Small and sleek, light.-Projects as describedNegatives:-Does not work with my iPhone 4s but works ok with ipod touch.-The aspect ratio of videos is off, images and videos are squashed. nightmd review said this could be changed but customer service or cannot find this setting.-Did not come with case as the video shows.-Has glitches in photo view that make me have to shut both off, disconnect, reconnect and restart to get pictures to show properly.-Shows all Albums and Events as Albums, maybe just a learning how it works thing.

Projection is awesome in dark environment only.You can view IPhone 4/4S pics , videos recorded by your phone camera. Also the iphone podcast videos.I like watching youtube videos using this projector :)Its just 18 LUMENS ... do don't expect to watch movies on this. It wont be fun because its not bright enough to watch movies.On second day of use my projector stopped working :( ...it couldn't recognize my iPhone . It was always coming up with a message - IPICO Projector NOT connected.Then I called the 800 number and they asked me to RESET the Projector using a PIN. I Just pushed the PIN into a small hole to reset the projector :)Then my Projector started working again . So , its all ok now.You cannot project iPhone screen :(You cannot project other iPhone apps :(Does not connect any other device :(

When I first got this, I was kind of angry that the iPico app was listed as "unavailable" in the App Store. And I was told by product support (eventually) that the app was down for updating. Much later, I received another response that there wouldn't be an updated to support iOS 7. So that's terrible news, except...You don't need the app, at all, for this thing to work as it's described by the manufacturer. I've turned an old iPhone into a fun little 40" portable TV. I wouldn't rely on this for lengthy movies or critical business applications, but for the occasional 30 minute episode of the Simpsons or something splashed on the wall, this is a pretty fun little toy. Keep in mind pocket projectors of this brightness and resolution cost about 20 times what this costs, as recently as a couple years ago.

The Ipico software is not compatible with any Iphone 3GS. Nor does there exist a current English alternative software to run this.The company knows this and still is falsely adverting 3GS ipico compatibility.If I had bought this for an iPhone 4 I would given it 5 stars because I tried it one and it blew me away.Search these reviews for 3GS and you will see same probs.

FLOCOS式プロジェクタです。ランプはもちろんＬＥＤ。１２ルーメン、解像度960*540ピクセル、コントラスト比100:1、アスペクト比16：9です。純正のAPPは確かに落ちやすいですが、コンポジットAVケーブルでTV出力に対応しているAPPはこのプロジェクタでも再生可能です。GoodReaderやhuluなどのAPPから出力可。プレゼンなどはGoodReaderなどのAPPを使用すれば快適です。購入前は何ルーメンか分からず、値段相応に暗いだろうと覚悟していたので、実機が来たときは、思ったよりはマシな印象でした。昼間のレースカーテンを閉めただけの部屋でも、１m程の距離からの投写であれば、写真の確認程度ならば問題ないかと。ただし、解像度が低いので、細かい文字は読めません。グラフを全面表示しても、データラベルの文字までは難しいです。ボタンは電源とフォーカスを兼ねたものが一つだけ。接続時と充電時には端子部分を押し出す形になります。また、光センサが付いているので、暗いところでは照度を落とす等の調整は自動でしてくれます。appはコントラストやシャープなど調整できます。ただし、台形補正はありません。欠点は、コネクタ部分の接続が少しでも動くと、出力が切れてしまうことです。ここはロックがあっても良かったかも。手で持って動かすときには、iPhoneと本体の接続部が動かないように気を張らないといといけません。iPhoneで使用する場合にも、延長ケーブルはあると便利です。どうせなら１ｍの長いものを買いましょう。短いと、端末を動かすと本体も動いてしまいます。あと、実験した限りでは、プロジェクター出力しながら充電で２時間ものの映画を投写できました。欠点は、アスペクト比が16：9固定ということです。4：3の写真・動画などもすべて引き延ばされてしまいます。これは出力に使うAPPにかかわらず同じでした

i can only get it to show youtube video's.I was hoping to watch tv shoes and movies and pictures,but I can't get it working.I was surprised at the quality of the picture coming from this little projector.If someone can help me to get this up and running,I would like there input.Thank you.

ハードは良いものです。この値段では輝度もあり、解像度も高いです。アプリを立ち上げた瞬間、フリーズ・・・　最低です。最初、返品を考えましたが・・・実は、アプリを立ち上げなくても、普通にビデオアプリや写真アプリにすればちゃんとプロジェクターで見れるので、ほっとしました・・（笑）　良かった・・・・余計にこのアプリの意味がわかりませんっ！何度もいいますが、ハードは良いモノですよぉ。

Doesn't work with newer generation ipod. Should have looked into it more before purchasing.
