5/5 – A Must-Read If You’ve Ever Wondered What “The Cloud” Really Means
I just finished Explain the Cloud Like I’m 10 and honestly—10/10 recommend. If you’ve ever heard the term “cloud” tossed around and felt confused, this book breaks it all down in a super clear, friendly, and high-level way.Not only did I finally understand what the cloud actually is, but I also learned a ton about how companies like Netflix use it. Turns out, Netflix is way cooler and smarter with tech than I realized—the way they deliver videos over the internet is genius.Whether you’re a total beginner or just want a better grasp of how modern tech works behind the scenes, this is such a fun and surprisingly informative read.

Super helpful and simple overview of The Cloud
This book fulfilled its promise. It helped me better understand the internet, the cloud, cloud services, data centers, etc., and how these things interact with our apps to serve us. You will be surprised by some of the details you learn. Solid proof? After I finished reading it, I was able to explain to my husband the difference between hosting an on-prem product on the cloud and the product being truly cloud-native (hint: it’s not the same!). I can’t tell you how proud I feel for finally understanding this!

God’s Work✨
I've been an educator for the past 5 years. Teaching has always been my passion, but about a year ago, I had a moment of realization that it was time for a change in my career path. I made the bold decision to pursue a graduate program in cloud computing this summer, and I have to admit, I had my doubts along the way. That's when I turned to Amazon, searching for a resource to understand the cloud. Thankfully, this book came highly recommended, and man, am I grateful for those reviews. "Explain the Cloud Like I'm 10" turned out to be an absolute gem. Todd has a talent for breaking down complex concepts into simple, easily digestible explanations. Chef’s kiss*

A high level examination of many of the aspects of network based, computerized services.
This light hearted approach to explaining the Internet and Cloud based services makes for a fast, easy read. The author is thorough and well organized in his discussions of all of the major components of the Internet. The book provides examples and makes comparisons to everyday concepts to facilitate fast comprehension of complex subject matter at an introductory level. I feel well equipped now to chose the next book to read for a deeper, more detailed description of network architecture and design.

Exactly what I needed and more.
Wow. This book is exactly what I needed... complements and strings together all the youtube videos i watched on this topic. I greatly appreciate how the author dumbs down the topic on cloud tech for a newb technologist with curiosity like myself. Also, the chapter on netflix is more than an added bonus... that chapter alone is worth the price of the book, as it helps me visualize the technology in modern era, implications of various technologies and incorporate better ways to explain the topic to others. Thank you! If the author has other material, I will seriously consider purchasing for later reference.

Perfect for Base Foundation
I’m a girl trying to dip my feet into the tech world to transition to a new career. I’ve taken an AWS cert course but the base terms were flying over my head incessantly. This book really gave me a great foundation to go back and study with the knowledge and true understanding of key terms like servers, virtual machines, containers, ISP, and so much more! And how the cloud works- this book paints clear imagery so you can REALLY picture it! A great read too. Thank you!-Abby

Excellent for a PM role at a Tech Company
Wish the updated version was available as a hard copy instead of just Kindle! Amazing book, though.Very helpful for understanding software and deployment strategies.Would love to see a follow-up: "Explain the Cloud Like I'm 20!" (going into a little more detail about infrastructure, particularly in the age of AI and GPU's)
